Rewritten is a UK brand blazing the way to a more sustainable future for bridal wear. Designed and sampled in their London premises, their dresses are conceived from the promise that every bridesmaid, regardless of shape or size, can be the bridesmaid they want to be. But not only this, as set out in their sustainability statement, they ‘fundamentally believe that a bridesmaids dress should be worn more than once rather than relegated to the back of the wardrobe’ – so of course, with that mindset, we just had to join forces and support each other in our aim to innovate the wedding-fashion rental space.

Founded in 2016 by two friends, Katie Arnott and Frances Cookson. They were frustrated with the offering they found for bridesmaid dress options and felt they could design something that not only they would wear, but their friends, family and ultimately any bridesmaid would feel great in. Katie is a fashion designer and designs each and every piece, whilst Frances leads with her business brain and together, they have created a collection that offers something for every woman, and something that can be worn time and time again. 

When we learned all of this about Rewritten, we knew that this bridal brand was for us and would complement our existing branded offer. In addition to this, as a fellow female founded business, they have inspired us with their approach to maintaining complete joint control over all the decisions they make, no matter how small. Katie and Frances are also founding members of the Sustainability Fashion Accelerator programme, which sets out to support fashion businesses to grow whilst keeping sustainability at the heart of everything they do. 

Now ReWritten aren’t just about the good vibes and a conscious approach, their range incorporates a modern style but isn’t focussed on bowing to the latest trends. They offer each of their bridesmaids’ dresses in sizes 8-26, and in a variety of colours and fabrics. We believe that our brides now have true flexibility in being able to mix and match their bridesmaids, selecting a style that perfectly suits their individuality, making it so easy for today’s bride to meet all her girls dress needs. 

Excitingly, ReWritten have also added to their founding bridesmaid collection by recently launching a beautiful bridal wedding dress range. This carefully designed capsule gives the UK bride the opportunity to select a dress that will never be out of fashion, that is made from sustainably sourced fabrics and at a price that won’t blow that all important wedding budget.

If we do not stock the style or size required here at Something Borrowed, the dress or dresses are then made to order especially for you, and available to rent or purchase. We know our clients may prefer to own their pieces, particularly owing to the fact that ReWritten’s dresses are bound to make you want to wear them again and again, so adding the option to purchase from their collection just made sense.
